John Kani turns 80-year-old today, 30th of August.

The legend’s birthday was announced by his son who is an actor, Atandwa Kani.

Atandwa took to Instagram and shared a post announcing the veteran actor’s birthday.

He also penned down words of eulogy to his dad, and wished him well.

“Happy 80th Birthday to my leader, my best friend, my confidant & my father.. 80 years strong! May The Good Lord bless you with many many more!!!”

A follower commented with a lovely birthday note. It reads, “Happy birthday, Papa Kani!! Meeting you, even if briefly, has been a highlight in our careers. You’re a legend and a storyteller of note. Have a wonderful, blessed day.”
